Getting started
Requirements
- A Mac with Apple silicon, macOS 13.0 or later.
- Your own Claude subscription, with the Claude Code CLI installed and signed in.
- Node is bundled in the app. You do not install it.
Install
Download the DMG from the download page and check its SHA-256 with shasum -a 256. Open it and drag Luff Enterprise Studio to Applications. If the build is not notarized, right-click the app, choose Open and confirm, once. The 14-day trial starts with no sign-up.
Connect Claude
Luff starts its work sessions through the Claude Code CLI on your Mac, under your own Claude subscription. You pay Anthropic directly. Luff adds no markup and holds none of your keys.
Jev, the optional judge
Add your own OpenRouter key to ~/.luff/.env to switch on Jev, the small judge model, which decides whether and how a chat message should wake Claude. It sees up to the first 300 characters of each chat message you write, sent to OpenRouter under your key. Set LUFF_JEV_SEND_TEXT=0 to stop the text being sent. Key changes apply without a restart. If Jev is unsure or unavailable, the message simply goes to Claude. Nothing is sent to Luff's servers.
Add your licence key
Your licence is tied to your Mac and valid through your paid period; renewals deliver a fresh licence key to your portal.
- Open the app, choose Show this computer's ID, and copy it.
- Give it to us at checkout, on the order page, or in the customer portal.
- Your key is signed for that Mac and emailed to you. It is also in the portal under Show key.
- Paste the key, which starts with
LUFF1., into the app. It is checked offline.
Move to another Mac
In the portal, choose Move to another Mac and enter the new machine ID. A fresh key is signed for it and sent to you. Each plan allows two machine bindings per calendar year, counting the first.
Updates
New versions appear on the releases page with their checksums. A manual Check for Updates button arrives in a later client release. It reads one static file when you click it, and never checks on its own.
